CWI TECH HIGH SCHOOL
We are a proudly a government technical school without servicing under affiliation of Department of Education (DoE) at large, with a firm focus on the individual, and are unique in South Africa for delivering the curriculum through the plan and leadership of our Dr. Menepa, our Principal, SMT and professional the whole qualified Teachers.
This approach provides an academic framework within a nurturing and inclusive environment and helps learners develop into confident and compassionate young women and men with a strong sense of responsibility. our history
Since the Tech High School was introduced in 1992 by Head of School Miss Thembekwayo Baile, it has sat at the heart of Tech High School’s approach to teaching and learning. The four pillars of the Plan – Independence, Responsibility, Collaboration and Reflection – are the solid foundation upon which Tech High School learners become independent learners.
Each week, the three key elements of Assignment, Lesson and Study provide a unique framework for learners to organise their own learning—seeking direct feedback when required and following up on areas that require consolidation. Through this self-directed yet highly supportive learning structure, in partnership with their teachers, Tech High School learners develop an extraordinary skill set that enables them to become confident and self-reliant throughout their lives. The Tech High School was first developed by The Department of Education in the town of Frankfort, after she establishment of Gugulethu School in Mafube in 1992. One of the tenets of her philosophy was to establish a ‘culture achieved through individual development and through collective cooperation. It is no longer school. It is life.’ Thirty years of Tech High School can attest to this. The Tech High School has not only formed the basis for their School studies but has underpinned the way generations of Tech High School learners have approached their careers and their lives.
